Biljana Mišić
IZVOR / THE SOURCE
2 to 13 Dec. 2025
GALLERY
Each painting is a record of an encounter with the Source – a moment when the invisible becomes present, and the eternity flows into creative force.
Biljana Mišić
Biljana’s collages convey her deep belief in universal images that connects her spirituality with the visible world. Her dreamscapes are all-encompassing compositions that draw the viewer in by leaving the realistic representation behind. The diverse images, appropriated from nature and culture both are re-deployed to construct these dreamscapes that deny any hierarchy to exist. In Biljana’s compositions, all beings – supernatural, human, and animal – are represented together – they are equal in their quest for meaning.
Jovana Stokic, art historian and curator
Biljana Misic’s work transcends conventional categorization. Inspired by nature and referencing traditional themes used throughout art history, she reinterprets these classical ideas through an unconventional process-based approach. Misic’s chosen medium of collage, allows her to quite literally pull from a vast canon of imagery and transform past histories into a new mode of storytelling, creating contemporary three dimensional objects. Upon closer observation, the works reveal the many narratives that the artist masterfully weaves into each meticulously crafted piece.
Zuzanna Ciolek, art historian and curator, UTA Artist Space, Beverly Hills, USA
Biljana Mišić’s paintings remain grounded in physical space, yet they break through its surface and descend into the deepest layers of existence. Moving through strata of artistic meaning, they reach the central mysteries and essential questions of being – to the place where beauty is meant to save the world.
Sasa Radovanovic, professor of Aesthetics
Channeling the wisdom and essence of the Goddess, Our First Mother, Biljana’s works serve as portals into ancient and eternal memories. Bridging the conscious and unconscious worlds through her own connection with Spirit. Textures and colors bring to life once three dimensional materials proving that all matter is malleable and is simply a denser form of spirit. Every detail is a tangible symbol of truth, an abstract awakening pointing to the cycles and majesty of nature herself. Biljana is a living reminder that when the muse comes to visit you, it is a duty and an honor to let her move through you. She is a conduit for realms unseen, creating ceremony on a canvas for eyes to enter their own ritual.
