The fourth season of the concert cycle KOLARAC – YOUR MUSIC WORLD, in cooperation with MTS, is planned for the 140th anniversary of the establishing the Kolarac Endowment with the main idea to present interesting programmes, interesting artists and a selected concert series, which includes seven concerts, to the Belgrade audience.
Having in mind that Kolarac Endowment has a new Stenway piano, the season is also based on the promotion of this instrument through various programme segments.
Also, in order to respond as an organizer to the audience’s demands and constantly follow the current concert offer in the Concert Hall, this cycle brings visitors refreshments in programme units that include the hosting of two symphonic orchestras, one chamber and four recital projects.
As soloists, at concerts with orchestras, pianists Cyprien Katsaris, Ivo Pogorelić and violinist Gidon Kremer are especially renowned.
Katsaris is the leading name of world pianism, he is from Cyprus and lives in Paris. He is a permanent contributor to the National Orchestra with whom he will play in Belgrade.
The return of Ivo Pogorelić to the podium of Kolarac, after almost three decades of absence, on two completely sold out concerts in the past year, was the event of the season.
In the new season, it is planned to host Pogorelić with the Orchestra of Nations composed of young musicians from all over Europe. This is a European project and the tour actually marks the end of the 100th anniversary celebration since the end of the First World War.
Gidon Kremer is a true legend of the world music scene, the leading name of violinism for almost half a century. He founded the orchestra in 1997 that consists of successful and talented musicians from the Baltic countries. Kremer is the artistic director of this extremely popular and demanded orchestra.
In the recital programmes, performances of two our violinists, successful world careers, are anticipated and they will present themselves to Belgrade audience through solo programmes accompanied by eminent pianists.
Stefan Milenković does not need to be particularly presented, but the speciality of this concert is that he had last solo concert in the Concert Hall of The Kolarac Endowment in 2001.
In addition to Roman Simović, who is the concertmaster of the London Symphony Orchestra and Valery Gergiev’s permanent associate, Vadym Kholodenko will also perform, which will equally be impressive including the audience and the criticism.
Another successful musician from this region, pianist Aleksandar Madžar, a favorite of the Belgrade audience, will premiere in the piano duo with his constant partner Alexander Melnikov. The programme includes works by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
Exclusivity in this season is distinguished by the master of the harmonica Antonio Serrano, a musician of extreme sensibility, who was officially declared the best soloist on this unusual instrument. The programme of this concert consists of the works of the classic repertoire of the Latin American composers.
